Welcome to Southern Grit Kennels! We are located in Signal
Mountain, Tennessee and have Scott/Performance American
Bulldogs. I am a proud member of the Chattanooga Chapter of
Service Dogs of America and National Working Dog
Association.
American Bulldogs have been a part of my life since 1982 when
I received a high drive female out of Florida from my uncle. This
female, Queen, set the standard for me. She was drivey,
protective, and willingly accepted any tasks I asked of her.
A manageable high drive, along with structure and an even
temperament, is what I have based my breeding program on.
Every dog on my yard has a job and the job description is
simple - each dog must perform the tasks it was bred for. No
matter if the dog is in the woods, training field, or at home it
must work as a bulldog should.
Although I do occasionally have a litter of pups for sale, I am not
a puppy mill and I will only sell to experienced bulldog people.
This breed is not for everyone as it is a working breed and
must be tasked with a job in order to be truly happy.
